Interfaith Hospitality Network of Fort Wayne
Interfaith Hospitality Network of Fort Wayne Inc. provides shelter, meals and comprehensive support to families without homes. IHN unites communities of faith in a collaborative effort to assist homeless families and is one of the only agencies in the area that keep homeless families in tact while seeking housing, jobs and other resources. Sixteen congregations rotate 3-4 times a year for a week, to provide accommodations and meals for up to five families. While at the houses of worship, 30-50 volunteers per congregation assist in providing meals, evening activities, overnight assistance and other forms of mentorship. Thus, upwards of 800 volunteers helps IHN assist families in their efforts to realize their goals of independent living.
