YWCA Greater Lafayette
The YWCA Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Program (DVIPP) offers a confidential, safe, emergency shelter for women and their children who are affected by domestic violence. Shelter residents receive support from trained, caring staff and from each other. Resources are provided (with continuous case management) to help women find employment, housing, financial resources, legal options, childcare, and counseling, in order to become self-sufficient. In addition, DVIPP operates a 24-hour domestic violence hotline (765-423-1118 or 1-888-345-1118 toll free), assistance with protective orders, a parenting class, support groups, free 9-1-1 cell phones, bilingual (Spanish/English) services, educational presentations, and volunteer opportunities. DVIPP serves six area counties – Benton, Carroll, Clinton, Tippecanoe, Warren and White.
